The Iridium Satellite System provides a highly reliable and economical method to establish global, near real-time GPS aircraft tracking capability for fixed and rotary wing aircraft.
Fastwave offers low cost, portable aviation solutions to keep pilots and their passengers in constant global communication whilst in flight.
Our unique Gryphon provides flight tracking, two-way messaging, cockpit voice communication and distress alarm capability in a compact and fully portable unit. These attributes have made it a popular solution where rapid deployment with walk-on, walk-off capability is desirable.
The aviation version of the FasTracker GPS tracking unit offers a low cost solution where tracking and distress alarm capability is required without voice and messaging. It can be supplied for portable use or permanent installation.
Fastwave is also a distributor for Flightcell aircraft tracking and communication products.
Our aircraft tracking products are supported by the award winning FastView on-line tracking and alerting system, which provides global, near real-time visibility of your aircraft from your computer.
Fastwave's unique Gryphon provides an ideal solution for temporary tracking of aircraft, vehicles or vessels where permanent installation is undesirable or impractical. In addition, it has an integrated Iridium satellite phone for global voice and SMS communication, wireless panic alarm and re-chargeable battery pack that provides up to 72 hours endurance in stand-alone operation.
Gryphon is supplied in a compact, rugged, waterproof and dustproof case and is designed to withstand the rigors of travel in remote, hostile environments. Because it is completely autonomous, the Gryphon avoids the cost and complexity of installation in aircraft, vessels or vehicles.

The aviation version of the FasTracker GPS tracking unit offers a low cost solution where tracking and distress alarm capability is required without voice and messaging. It can be supplied for portable use or permanent installation.
In the portable configuration, the unit plugs into the aircraft auxiliary power socket for its power supply, and the FAA certified antenna is located within the cockpit using a suction cup mount. There is no pilot interaction required once the FasTracker has been powered up. The unit will automatically transmit GPS position, altitude, direction, speed and other information from the aircraft in intervals ranging from one minute upwards. The reporting interval can be changed over the air via the FastView online monitoring system.
The FasTracker is supplied with a wireless distress/I'm Ok messaging button, which will send instant email and/or SMS alerts anywhere in the world.
FasTracker's rugged construction and internal battery has proven to be critical in surviving aircraft crash incidents and ensuring that distress messages can be sent by the pilot and crew, when all other emergency communications have failed.
An optional aviation distress/return to base messaging switch can be supplied if the FasTracker is permanently installed in the aircraft.

Australia's leading aircraft ferry company, Australian Air Ferry (AAF), regularly ferries light aircraft to and from Australia, crossing vast distances over the Pacific and Indian Oceans, as well as remote terrain en route in Asia, Africa and the Middle East. Much of this involves flying with no radio coverage or air traffic control, so satellite communications become vital for maintaining scheduled contact between the pilot and AAF operations base. Whilst voice communication could be achieved using a portable Iridium Satellite phone handset, AAF couldn't find a suitable solution for an automated GPS tracking system to maintain situational awareness of the ferry aircraft during these marathon flights. Because they were flying delivery flights with different aircraft, a specific requirement for AAF was to have a portable, simple to use flight tracking system that could be used in any aircraft, by any pilot. In addition, providing the pilot with a panic alarm to send distress messages was a key requirement to improve the safety of their operations.
Fastwave delivered the first portable aircraft version of its FasTracker to AAF in 2007. Since then, AAF tracks all of its ferry flights using the system. Not only has this enhanced the safety of their operations, but it also enables their clients to monitor the progress of their aircraft on their delivery flights.
